Vertical Word of Mouth

Word of mouth is accelerated when you focus your business on selling into a vertical.

 

Everybody in a vertical is interested in knowing the vendor other people in the vertical are using to get an edge in pursuit of success. 

 

Especially when the vendor is new and driving unusually good results

 

It’s just human nature.  

 

This word of mouth is the holy grail of marketing because it means that your brand is being spread by your current customers to your future customers on your behalf, for free. 

 

Take away:

 

If you’re targeting a vertical that doesn’t have a way for its members to connect with each other socially, you’ll severely limit the opportunity for your brand to spread through word of mouth within those verticals.
