Purpose of a B2B Pitch Deck

The primary purpose of a B2B pitch deck is not to sell the prospect.

 

Instead, the purpose is to establish enough trust so the prospect will open up to you.

 

Why?

 

Helping a prospect get what they want is near impossible if they don't share the truth about:

 

  • Where they are today
  • Where they want to go
  • What obstacles are preventing them from getting what they want
  • What the cost of inaction is (for not making a change)

 

And they'll only share those once they trust you can help them.

 

Questions to ponder:

  • Is my B2B pitch deck trying to sell the prospect or build trust?
  • Does my pitch deck do a good job of establishing trust?
